This is the last release of GAP ( the Gimp Animation Package )
compiled for Windows by JamesH
Actually the installer went MIA , this contain my back up copy

Install is simple how double click on the installer, but there are some extra goodies included:

1) To start the best introductory tutorial for GAP written by Scott Bicknell (AC7ZZ) ...plus a copy of the official Doc

2)A selection from my collection of animation scripts of various authors, most hard to found because never added to the official gimp plugin registry.
Now sorted in 3 group: Animated FX, Animated Logos and

Scripts are from Fenceposte, Saulgoode, LIMN, Gadget Wizard AKA Scott Mosteller ,Insanity Prevail

3) a plugin to create animated cursor

I installed this on GIMP thinking I'd use it, but I don't. How do I get rid of it? I tried uninstalling GIMP and reinstalling, but that didn't work.

Hmm, I think I understand why the 64-Bit of Gimp 2.6.6 is called "Experimental". Seems this new GAP package doesn't agree with it as I'm getting execution errors for every plugin .EXE file it has, Think I need to go back to 32-bit? Or was I not supposed to install it into the gimp-2.0 folder? The installer didn't give me a default directory since I guess it isn't supported by 7 yet. Any help would be great!

On windows the 2.6.6 version was..a disaster:
It was something wrong in the installer not sure if only for the 32bit or both version

Use last gimp 2.6.7 or 2.6.8, i am afraid there is not 64 bit version now but the 32 bit should work well.

let me know if this solved...and Merry Xmas

Yeah, running it with the 64-bit version of 2.6.6 installed was the problem. Oh well, guess rendering fractals will take both my cores now instead of one, but my new plugins work now as well as GAP. So, long story short, GAP 2.6 doesn't approve of the x86-64 version of Gimp.

Merry Christmas to you too...

the link appears to be broken, could you please have a look at it and let me know where I still can get GAP?
thanks

the download link at left side of the image works well...maybe
was a temporary problem

If you instead refer to the link in the comment that is for the Gap source code, not for binary to install...that is maintained by gimp.org is even possible some temporary issue with their server

But problems with DA server seems less probable anyway as now everything works

This is awesome, thanks photocomix.

How do I view the tutorial and find the scripts you've packaged with it?
Reply
:iconphotocomix-resources:
once unzipped you just click on the tutorial html file, firefox or IE should automatically open
Just take care of not remove from the tutorial folder the subfolder, that are the tutorial images they need to be togheter

On the banner, do you mean it is ok for both XP and Vista, requiring Gimp 2.4 minimum or XP only and Vista users need Gimp2.4?
Reply
:iconphotocomix-resources:
i should change that banner i used by mistake the old one
As title say is for Gimp 2.6
So if somebody use gimp 2.4 may be better use also the older version of GAP

Polish if it's possible :)
I compiled .deb for Ubuntu and had no problem with languages. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to make installer for Windows.
